Description
Wiring

Power connection

The RF-100 reader's supply voltage is DC12V, and the power line is red and black. The red line is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and the black line is connected to the negative pole After the power cord is properly connected, the panel light of the RF-100 reader lights up and is red.
Signal connection

The data signal of the RF-100 reader is the RS485 signal, and the signal lines are green and white. The green line is RS485-A and the white line is RS485-B.
The serial port parameters of the RF-100 reader are:
Baud rate 9600bps
Data bit 8 bits
Stop bit 1 bit
Check digit NONE
The computer uses a USB to RS485 converter to connect the A/B end of the RS485 converter to the A/B end of the RF-100 reader.

Data test

software tools

Open the serial port debugging assistant on the computer and use the serial port parameter of "9600, NONE, 8, 1" to open the port number corresponding to the RS485 port.
As shown in the figure below, this document uses the serial port of the computer as “COM5” as an example. The actual test of the user must be based on the port number of the computer.

Swipe test

After connecting the power and signal lines and opening the serial debugging software, you can perform a swipe test on the RF-100 reader. This document is tested with an active card reader.
If the card is normal, the buzzer of the RF-100 reader will make a “drop” sound, and the panel light will flash green.
The data received by the serial port after swiping is shown in the figure below.

Application scenario

Access card

In this application, the card reader is connected to the door lock master, and the door lock master compares the card information after receiving the card swiping information, and if the card number is an authorized card, sends an unlock command to open the door, such as an unauthorized card. The user is reminded of illegal card swipe by display or alarm. The application topology is shown below:

Swipe control system

In this application, the card reader is connected to the main control through RS485. After receiving the card swiping information, the master control compares the card numbers and performs different actions through different card numbers, such as starting, stopping, opening the valve, closing the valve, etc. Simplify user operations. The application topology is shown below:
